Wacky Wednesday!

I know, it's Thursday! Wacky Wednesday wore me out yesterday, so I'm posting about our day this morning :)

The outfits yesterday ranged from wacky to down right creative! Here are a few pictures from our outfits today!

We started Wacky Wednesday by eating Green Eggs and Ham! I only had a few that weren't able to try them because they were too uncomfortable with the color!

Next, we read the story "Wacky Wednesday" by Dr. Seuss and found all of the wacky things on each page! Then, I projected the FREEBIE Wacky Wednesday picture I posted yesterday on our white board. The kids found all of the wacky things about the picture and wrote them down!

For our poems this week, I typed up a few excerpts from Dr. Seuss's books. During our D.E.A.R. (Drop everything and read) time, we have listened to the story and then put the excerpt into our poetry notebooks! We have highlighted rhyming words, sight words, and made our own ABC book! It has allowed us to read more Dr. Seuss books while working with our poetry notebook features as well!

In Writer's Workshop this week we have been making our own Silly Creatures!

They have really let their creativity and imagination soar with creating these creatures! I can't wait to show you their writing!

Today is PAJAMA DAY! We will be reading "The Sleep Book" as well as "Horton Hears a Who"! After school we have Parent/Teacher conferences, so we're in for another long, but FUN day! :)

  1. Do you have the poems you typed out available to download?

    1. Hi Leah! Unfortunately, I am unable to share due to copyright issues. They were part of my freebie last year, but I was notified to take them out. I just picked a few books that I knew had features we were working with and typed up portions of the books. I'm sorry I can't share them with you!
