Teacher Week 2014- When and What

Today I'm linking up a little late for the When and What posts for Teacher Week 2014!

We had our Meet the Teacher Night Thursday and family time last night!

This first part of my post is all about WHEN I teach each skill and our schedule.

 

Let's start with my year long curriculum map.

We use Go Math and Scholastic's Traits Writing Curriculum, so you'll see those mapped out accordingly. I did include the CCSS and the writing project with Mentor Texts for each week, so you'll have an idea of what I'll be teaching.

We also use this spelling curriculum from Teacher's Clubhouse.

For Reader's Workshop and Science, I have the topics/focus, but not the specific unit. I'll share some of my favorite units tomorrow.

 Movin' on to WHAT I like to teach!

My heart lies with Literacy!

I have such a passion for reading and teaching the kids how to learn to read, and in turn read to learn.
