I'm baaaack again! :)
If you missed it earlier, the very sweet Dana from Common to the Core is featuring me on her blog today!
Can you even believe it?
Seriously, I about shut my computer down when I saw the July Currently was today.
June, what HAPPENED to you?!

Listening...
Jace's new obsession in the brief periods of time when we're inside is Super Why!
I'm not completely against it, it's actually pretty entertaining.
(uhh... no, I'm not losing it. But I'm not denying I may have sun exposure! haha)
Loving...
Lazy summer days and family time!
During the year I feel like I'm always prepping my life away and being stressed about getting things done.
It's such an amazing feeling to be stress free (for the most part) and just do what we want!
Tonight we just walked down and went swimming on a whim for about an hour.
Beautiful memories!
Thinking...
I'm not gonna lie...
Since finding out about my new position for next year, all I can think about is finding a house, a new babysitter, and preparing for 2nd grade!
Is it crazy I'm more nervous about teaching 2nd than buying a house?
#teacherproblems
Wanting/Needing...
Just as above!
Our dreams are coming true and our whole world is about to change!
Tomorrow we NEED to call a realtor and get the house process started! :)
4th plans..
Family time!
Cookout.
Festival.
Fireworks!
Today also happens to be Book Talk Tuesday with the ever fab Mrs. Jump's class!

I've blogged about the inspirational, exceptional, generous Corey Rosen Schwartz before.
I'm SURE today won't be the last time I blog about this phenomenal author, either.
Her new book, Ninja Red Riding Hood is coming out SOON (like, in 9 days!)!
If you haven't already pre-ordered this book, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?!
Go NOW! :)
If you haven't heard of this "awesome Ninja lady" and her books, check her out!
Here's a trailer for Ninja Red.
I was blessed and fortunate to have a copy of this book last year to really "kick" off our Fairy Tales Unit.
The reviews the kids gave this book were amazing.
They were seriously talking about "the Ninja lady and her awesome ninja books" the rest of the YEAR!
Talk about a hot commodity at our classroom library!
Her books were always checked out of our favorite authors bin.
Last year, my kiddos loved making predictions about the story.
They also couldn't help but give their opinions about the wolf and what they would have done if they were Little Red!
Before LRRH gives her "condition" to the wolf, we stopped reading and the kids predicted using this sheet what they would do if they were LRRH.
Just click below to grab a free copy!
And don't forget to check out the fabulous Corey Rosen Schwartz!
Ki-yah!
:)
Your blog is *super* cute! I love the stars you have in your sidebar!! ...
ReplyDeleteTo be totally honest, all I can do is think about next year too !!! /= I'm going from teaching ELA all day to now being self-contained .. I'll do ELA, Math, SS, AND Science. AHHH ! But I'm secretly looking forward to it. I know it's gonna be a lot of work. /=
Your 4th plans sound relaxed, calming, and just simple fun - I hope you enjoy ! Take it easy sometimes too this summer .. good luck with finding a house and all of your chaos. Remember to take care of yourself too. :)

Take Me to Third Grade
Thanks so much, Jenn! My blog designer is a genius! (A Bird in Hand Designs) I can see how switching to self-contained would be overwhelming also! You'll do great, and probably love the different subjects. I love teaching Science- the kids really get engaged with experiments. Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteHow exciting, though! This will be my very first year teaching and I can't wait to get a room as well. And, funny thing, I JUST moved into a new house. Seems like this summer is a whirlwind for us both! Good luck!

Congratulations, Amanda!!!
DeleteWhat grade will you be teaching?
It's definitely a whirlwind, but I'm also thrilled to be moving back "home" and getting my dream job! :)
Super why is a great show for kids! It is one that I don't mind watching with them!
ReplyDeleteI actually love it, too! :) It's one where I think he's actually learning something instead of just watching. Super Why definitely gets them to interact. He's almost 2, so we do most of the interacting together to get him excited. Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteIsn't it a little insane how much fun it is?! My husband is off work today and I asked him if he wanted to go in and see my new room.... I think I got the "crazy eye" haha! I'm excited about the switch to 2nd, I think I'll love the independence and the ability to dig deeper with guided reading! :) Thanks for stopping by!
