Five for Friday!

You know the drill! Click below to head over to Doodle Bugs!

1.
I've been able to work in my classroom this week and it's been SO exciting to see things START to come together.
I know, I know.
That burned your eyes a little to read that. ;)
You don't have to tell me.
Buuutttt... because we're moving, getting a new babysitter, changing grade levels, ya know- changing every aspect of our lives in 1 1/2 months, I NEED to get my classroom set up now.
So here we go!
(please forgive my horrible lighting and cell phone pics. I promise I'll take better ones when my room is finished!)

Yup, you read that right!
$3!
This 4 pack of plain corkboards sells for $6, but I got them for cheap because I had a 50% off coupon!
(I'm rounding to whole numbers here, friends. Have to keep the Math skills sharp over summer!)
The blue boards I painted with blue glitter paint, added green glitter polka dots, and then hot glued ribbon and buttons on top.
The gray chevron is leftover fabric.
I just wrapped the board like a present and used my hot glue gun!
LOVE these on my lime wall!
Decorative ribbon goes a long way to cutsie things up a bit!
Notice my fabric banners hanging in the windows?!
By the way, have you been to the the Dollar Tree yet?
 TEACHER STORAGE HOARDER HEAVEN!
This new sign from Michaels looks great in my desk area!
The blue dry erase board was on clearance for $2 at Jo Ann's and I added the stickers on top.
My homework club display is hanging underneath.
Those green hooks are where my hall passes will hang
Last year I had red and bright green crates with the toppers on the left for my crate seats.
I ditched the green and red and bought all teal/blue crates from Target last week.
I also recovered my seats and added my table skirt to my reading table.
Here's what my room looked like when I left today!

2.
I'm working on finishing my décor pack for my new classroom theme!
There are SO MANY different ways I have included these can be arranged or displayed!

3.
There are 57 (YES, REALLY!) classroom jobs included in this set, and again- so many ways to display these and I've included several ideas in this set.
My goal is to create things that work in my classroom, but to also let the product be versatile for you and fit your needs as well.

4.

Print them for your bulletin board, or print the smaller size and put them on a ring as a reference tool!

3.
I was able to work in my classroom a little this week.
Here's what my room looked like after Day 1!
I swear there's a little progress! :)

The bins in the bottom of the cubbies will be used for book bins.
Just missing the labels I need to print and laminate!

I had to run back to the store and snag a few more blue bins yesterday- so glad I found them! :)
I've taught K for 4 years, so I've never had to use my chapter book library.
This weekend (in between all of the family fun we have planned!) I'm hoping to start leveling my books so I can add them to my bins next week.
I've heard there are great apps for this....
Do you have any website or app recommendations for me?

4.
Houston, we have a PROBLEM.
MY 1st grade teacher retired this year and gave me these wonderful mailboxes (how cool is THAT?!)But... here's the problem.
I thought they would fit under my cabinets here:

They apparently have other plans.
They won't fit! Ahh...
This brings me to set them here and I hate the windows being blocked!
So... what do YOU use for classroom mailboxes?!
Help a sista out! :)

5.
All 4 years of K, I've had a HUGE classroom rug that I (well my hubby and my dad) have had to roll up and lug out of my classroom.
This year, I got rid of it in hopes to order SitSpots for my new room.
I'm SOOOOOOO excited, I ordered my SitSpots today!
As soon as they arrive, I'll share them with you!
I ordered the bright blue and lime green colors for my new theme.
SO much cheaper than purchasing a rug.
I love the fact I am able to reposition and use them year and year without damaging the floor.
Click here, here, or here to read more!

Click below to head over to Kinder gals and see what they're up to!
http://kindergals.blogspot.com/2014/07/working-on-it-wednesday-vegas-style.html

The first thing I have been workin' on today is an update to my Mystery Reader pack.
I completely updated and gave this a major overhaul!
It was one of my very first products last year, so it definitely needed some TLC. :)
I updated the entire look of this pack, as well as updated the dates for the following school year.
You can also add your own dates on the blank pages I added this year.
If you've purchased this pack already, just go re-download the updates for free!
If you haven't purchased this yet, it's still only $2!

If you follow me on facebook you know I'm giving away a copy of both of the following new products in a Pin It to Win It!

Next, I finished my Word Wall pack for my new classroom theme set.
I included several different options and I have to admit, I'm having a hard time trying to decide which to print for my new classroom!

I also needed Number Card Labels to label my various classroom supplies.
I'm planning on printing a few sets of these to label book bins, cubbies, table buckets, etc.

We made a big purchase this week, but found this for dirt cheap :)
#thriftythursdayonwednesday

Yep, we bought a treadmill!
This is a stock photo of the one we bought because my hubby is currently picking it up.
Yay!
So excited to continue this #getfit journey!

I also just bought a dry erase monthly calendar to start meal planning.
So excited to get it hung up and start planning!

How are you Workin' it today??

July Currently, Book Talk Tuesday and a FREEBIE!

I'm baaaack again! :)

If you missed it earlier, the very sweet Dana from Common to the Core is featuring me on her blog today!

http://www.commontothecore.com/2014/07/new-teacher-blog-tuesday-selling-sizzle.html

Can you even believe it?
Seriously, I about shut my computer down when I saw the July Currently was today.
June, what HAPPENED to you?!
Just click here to head over to Farley's blog to see other currently posts!

Listening...
Jace's new obsession in the brief periods of time when we're inside is Super Why!
I'm not completely against it, it's actually pretty entertaining.
(uhh... no, I'm not losing it. But I'm not denying I may have sun exposure! haha)

Loving...
Lazy summer days and family time!
During the year I feel like I'm always prepping my life away and being stressed about getting things done.
It's such an amazing feeling to be stress free (for the most part) and just do what we want!
Tonight we just walked down and went swimming on a whim for about an hour.
Beautiful memories!

Thinking...
I'm not gonna lie...
Since finding out about my new position for next year, all I can think about is finding a house, a new babysitter, and preparing for 2nd grade!
Is it crazy I'm more nervous about teaching 2nd than buying a house?
#teacherproblems

Wanting/Needing...
Just as above!
Our dreams are coming true and our whole world is about to change!
Tomorrow we NEED to call a realtor and get the house process started! :)

4th plans..
Family time!
Cookout.
Festival.
Fireworks!

Today also happens to be Book Talk Tuesday with the ever fab Mrs. Jump's class!
Click below to check out other books we love!

I've blogged about the inspirational, exceptional, generous Corey Rosen Schwartz before.
I'm SURE today won't be the last time I blog about this phenomenal author, either.
Her new book, Ninja Red Riding Hood is coming out SOON (like, in 9 days!)!
If you haven't already pre-ordered this book, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?!
Go NOW! :)
If you haven't heard of this "awesome Ninja lady" and her books, check her out!
Here's a trailer for Ninja Red.

I was blessed and fortunate to have a copy of this book last year to really "kick" off our Fairy Tales Unit.
The reviews the kids gave this book were amazing.
They were seriously talking about "the Ninja lady and her awesome ninja books" the rest of the YEAR!
Talk about a hot commodity at our classroom library!
Her books were always checked out of our favorite authors bin.

Last year, my kiddos loved making predictions about the story.
They also couldn't help but give their opinions about the wolf and what they would have done if they were Little Red!
Before LRRH gives her "condition" to the wolf, we stopped reading and the kids predicted using this sheet what they would do if they were LRRH.
Just click below to grab a free copy!
And don't forget to check out the fabulous Corey Rosen Schwartz!
